Day 5: From Complaining to Contentment

Victorious Christian Living

So often Lord we are unhappy with our situations and tend to compare and complain. We are quick to be bitter and to murmur. We are so focused on the ‘grass that is greener on the other side’ that we forget to see or appreciate what you have given us. We are sorry Lord for the times we have complained instead of thanking you, for times we have failed to see the blessings in our lives. Lord we recognise we have failed to appreciate the many ways you continue to provide for our needs, bless us with gifts and talents. Forgive us Lord.

Thank you, Lord that you work in us to do your will. Father give us hearts that are content in you, in whatever situation we find ourselves and willing to trust you, knowing that you know what is best for us. Help us Lord to love and serve you cheerfully, recognising the privilege of being your children and of being part of your kingdom work. Lord may we serve you, with contentment, wherever you have placed us, thus reflecting you to the watching world, we pray.

Philippians 2:13-15 – For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. 14 Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,

1 Timothy 6:6 – Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

Ponder this: What all did I complain, murmur about in the past week?
