Day 7: From Bitterness to Remembrance

Victorious Christian Living

Lord we confess that we have been bitter when we don’t seem to be getting answers for things we have prayed and we have prayed for, may be for even years on end. We are quick to to doubt your goodness and we do not trust your faithfulness, sometimes even causing us to ‘shake our fists in your face.’ We are sorry Lord, have mercy on us and forgive us.

Help us Lord instead to remember. Like Habakkuk help us to remind ourselves of who you, and all that you are and have been to us. When our minds are filled with questions and we don’t always understand the ‘why’ help us Lord to rest humbly and confidently in the ‘who’ of who you are, your character, your ways with us in the past. Help us Lord to be like Habakkuk, to position ourselves to watch and wait in faith, when you take us through challenging situations. Help us be people of child-like trust who are ever mindful of your goodness and love toward us, we pray.

Habakkuk 1:12 – Are You not from everlasting, O Lord my God, my Holy One? We shall not die.O Lord, you have appointed them for judgment; O Rock, you have marked them for correction

Habakkuk 2:1 – I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected.

Ponder this: What am I choosing to remember today?
