Resting, Gratefully

Published on Apr 30, 2022

Romans 8:35-39 – Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Life is a journey they say,

Many you meet along the way,

True as that might be

Finally, the truth is, you see,

Time is a rare commodity

And everyone is so very busy.

So, the bottom line is, finally,

For all, life though a journey,

It can be all alone, for many

Who are sad and very lonely

Though they long for company,

They find no one but I, myself and me.

And yet, the deeper truth still be

One who understands and does see

Knowing what it is to be sad and lonely

Having lived it out Himself, He,

Promises, even when others do fail thee

Never, ever would He!

So, when you feel sorely

All alone, rejected and lonely

Would you choose instead to be

Resting in this truth, gratefully,

That He who loves you so very dearly

Is ever and always with thee.
