7. Jesus the Fulfillment and the Penalty

SERIES: 31 REASONS TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS

Matthew 5:17
“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

We celebrate Christmas because by fulfilling the Law and the Prophets Jesus

  •  fulfilled the doctrinal teachings in that He brought full revelation.
  • fulfilled the predictive prophecy that He is the Promised One.
  • fulfilled the moral and legal demands by fully obeying the law.
  • fulfilled the penalty due to us by His death on the cross, taking the penalty we deserved.

Lord Jesus for being the fulfillment of the law and prophets, taking the penalty I deserved, I am so grateful.
May my life and celebrations ever reflect my gratitude to you.
