When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.

Jesus the Passover Lamb, saves us from sin and death.
After 430 years of slavery, God brought the Israelites out of Egypt with a mighty hand. Nine spectacular plagues that showed the power and might of God did not soften Pharaoh’s heart. Then came the final plague, the death of the firstborn – human and livestock. Great was the wailing in Egypt that night, but in Goshen was not a tear.
God gave the Israelites specific instructions to deliver them. The Israelites had to slaughter a lamb without blemish and put the blood on the doorposts. The blood was to be a sign for the angel of God to pass over their home. They were to eat the lamb which was to be roasted in fire with bitter herbs. It was to be eaten completely, none of it was to remain until morning.
Jesus Christ, our Passover, the sinless, spotless One died to pay the price to rescue you and me from sin and death once and for all (1 Corinthians 5:7, John 1:29). His sacrifice saves us when we accept Him in faith. The paschal lamb was not killed in order to be looked at only, but to be eaten; and our Lord Jesus Christ has not been slain merely that we may hear about him and talk about him, and think about him, but that we may feed upon him. (Spurgeon). What is your response to Jesus who died for you, is He your Savior? What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
