Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there the Lord your God will gather you and bring you back. – Deuteronomy 30:4

Honestly, the terrible warnings in the Bible can be scary. But thankfully, punishments are not the final word on the matter. Moses warned of terrible judgements that would befall the Israelites if they turned away from God and worshipped other gods. And yet, he quickly also reminds them that God would always remain faithful to His covenant. And so, even though they may sin terribly, if they return, if they genuinely repent, God would willingly and lovingly accept them back.

Sin, they say, is a slow leak. Very few of us think we are sinners because we have not committed some “grievous” sins. But, sin often begins with our compromise on small things. One small sin leads to another. And, before you know it, doubt and unbelief creep in and God is slowly relegated to some small corner of life. Material possessions, selfish passions, and ungodly desires become the gods.

Soon enough, you find yourself far away from God. And the evil one is waiting to tell you, you have gone too far this time, God will never forgive this sin. And you begin to believe it. But the truth is, however far away from God you may have gone, the Bible says, if you repent and come back to God, He is waiting to welcome you back.

What is stopping you from coming back to the Lord in repentance, right now?

Lord, I have been far away from you for a long time. But I come back to you now, please forgive me Lord and accept me, I pray.

Beyond Ourselves (Psalm 102:1-28) LOVE

The poorest, the most difficult person, the most ignorant convert, every single one is precious to the Lord and so is to be precious to the church of God.
