On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.”  So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies. – Joshua 10:12-13

Adoni-Zedek, king of Jerusalem leads a band of five Amorite kings to attack Gibeon. Gibeon rushes to Joshua for help and he comes to their aid. He leads the Israelite army against the Amorites. They march all night and arrive at Gilgal and take the Amorite armies by surprise. The Lord throws the Amorites into confusion and hurls hailstone at them. Thus, the Amorites fled.

On that day, Joshua commanded the sun to stand still and it did. The sun stood still, till the nation avenged itself over its enemies. The Bible says, that there has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being.

Have you had times when you’ve had doubts if all that is mentioned in the Bible did happen? This extraordinary event recorded in the Bible is just one of the many that have been proven to be historically and scientifically true. Researchers claim that this epic Biblical story is the earliest account of annular eclipse that occurred more than three thousand two hundred years ago.

The Bible is the infallible Word of God (2 Peter 1:20-21) and is God breathed (2 Timothy 3:15-17). The Bible is alive and active and is sharper than any double-edged sword (Hebrew 4:12) The Bible is without error (Numbers 23:19). How is your life reflecting that you live by this truth?

Whom will you prayerfully share this awesome truth with today?

Lord, increase my faith and help me live each day in obedience to your Word, I pray.
