09: More Than Conquerors

Published on Aug 17, 2022

Ephesians 6:11 – Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

To put on the whole armor of God is to apply all of the Gospel to all of our life.

Christ secured our victory in spiritual warfare on the cross (Revelation 12:11). We have all that we need and face our battles from a place of victory for we are more than conquerors in Him (Romans 8:37). We put on the whole armor of God by making Him and His ways our dwelling place (Psalm 91:1). We delight in His commands and desire for His ways to become our ways (Psalm 37:4; Psalm 119:24, Psalm 119:111; Isaiah 61:10). The whole armor is the expression of our full trust in God and what He has done for us through Jesus Christ.

The purpose of the armor is that we stand against the wiles of the devil, who wants nothing more than to bring defeat. His main aim is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). However, no matter how cruel and vicious his schemes are, they come to nothing when we stand against them in the power of God.

Each day, through every situation, the choice to put on the armor of God however remains ours to make. What are you choosing and where have your choices brought you today?

Lord may I increasingly depend on your power and might.
