Read: Deuteronomy 28-29

Deuteronomy 29:29 – The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

God is all knowing. There is nothing He does not know.

God has complete knowledge and understanding, even of the hidden and mysterious aspects of life. He has understanding beyond what we can fathom (Isaiah 40:28) and His knowledge has no limits (Psalm 147:5). He has knowledge of all things – past, present and future and His purposes will stand (Isaiah 46:9-10). God knows every heart and mind, there is nothing we think or do that He does not know (Jeremiah 17:10). However, God does not reveal everything He knows, He has His secrets. He is God. “God is never surprised, never taken off guard, never caught unaware. His omniscience is perfect and complete.” (John MacArthur).

In His wisdom, God reveals certain truths to us through His Word. We are to pay attention to what He does reveal to us. His Word is eternal, it goes beyond the original audience and down the generations. His Word never goes out of fashion, it is relevant to all. His Word provide us with divine guidance, instruction, and principles for righteous living.

We are called to be doers of His word not mere hearers (James 1:22). We are called to study, meditate upon, and live out His Word daily, seeking His guidance and relying on His strength.

As we engage with God’s Word and become doers of His commands, our lives are transformed. His Word equips us to make wise decisions, navigate challenges, and live according to His divine will. “God’s omniscience is a reminder that we can trust Him fully. He knows what is best for us, and His plans are always perfect.” (Max Lucado)

Ponder

  1. How does the understanding that God is all-knowing and has complete knowledge of your heart and mind impact the way you live and make decisions?
  2. Are there areas of your life where you struggle to trust God’s wisdom and guidance, instead relying on your own understanding? How can you surrender those areas to Him and seek His direction?
  3. Reflecting on the statement that God’s Word never goes out of fashion and remains relevant to all generations, how can you ensure that you are actively engaging with and applying His timeless truths in your daily life?
