Read: Exodus 19-20
You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles wings and brought you to myself
Exodus 19:4
God cares & protects
God cares and protects His people that they may have fellowship with Him.
The Israelites have finally arrived at Mount Sinai. They have been learning to trust God. They saw God’s deliverance from Egypt, received His guidance, saw the amazing victory at the Red Sea, received God’s gifts of food and water and even a prayerful victory over the Amalekites. Now they are here at Mount Sinai to fulfill the purpose of why they were brought out of Egypt serve God on this mountain (Exodus 3:12).
God reminds the Israelites through Moses of how He bore them on eagle’s wings, carefully protecting them. Eagles they say, do not carry their young in their claws like other birds, but on their backs. The young eagles attach themselves to the back of the mother and are protected as they are carried. The hunter’s arrow must pass through the mother before it could touch the young eagle on her back. What a beautiful reminder of God’s love and protection of His children. And the purpose was to bring them to Himself for fellowship, to be His special people, treasured possession.
God chose to send His Son into the world to rescue us so that we may be His people, His treasured possession to have fellowship with Him. He carries us on eagle’s wings. Would you ask God to remind you of this beautiful truth and give you the desire to increasingly grow in your fellowship with Him?
