So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the Lord has commanded.”

Exodus 36:1

God is the source of all wisdom and enables us to do the tasks He calls us to.

God provided detailed and elaborate instructions on how to build the Tabernacle because He was going to come down to be with His people. It was a special moment, and the preparation was essential. To get the Tabernacle ready, God blessed and enabled various people with the necessary wisdom and understanding to carry out their respective tasks. It was truly an honor for them to be used by God in this way!

Proverbs 2:6 reminds us that God is the ultimate source of wisdom. To acquire wisdom, we must begin by cultivating a healthy fear and reverence for the Lord (Proverbs 9:10). Worldly wisdom tends to be self-centered and focused on satisfying our desires, rather than honoring God. While worldly wisdom may help us gain education, street smarts, and practical common sense, Godly wisdom involves trading earthly values for biblical values, as outlined in 1 John 2:15-16. As believers, we strive to make choices that reflect our allegiance to God’s kingdom, as emphasized in Philippians 1:27 and 3:20.

When God calls us to serve Him, He will also give us the wisdom and understanding we need to fulfill the task.

Is there a task God is calling you to do today, but you feel inadequate to take it up? Ask God for His help and guidance. He will provide all the wisdom and understanding you need to obey His call. Remember, God does not call the equipped, He equips the called.

Take a moment to reflect on your life. Are there any areas where you are pursuing worldly wisdom instead of godly wisdom? If so, ask God to help you develop a reverential fear of Him and to lead you on the path of godly wisdom. Is there a loved one who needs godly wisdom to make the right choices and decisions? Take a moment to pray for them, asking God to guide them and fill them with His perfect wisdom.

Prayer

Lord help me respond in obedience to what you are calling me to do, trusting You to equip me, Amen

Those who are grateful for mercy, are merciful. The bottomless well of mercy extended, should motivate and compel one to pass on the blessing.
