Read: Matthew 16

But what about you? he asked. Who do you say I am? Simon Peter answered, You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.

Matthew 16:15-16

Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God who loves us enough to die for us.

Having just cautioned His disciples against the wrong teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees, Jesus now asks them an all-important question. Their replies were many and varied, quoting reports they had heard. But then Jesus makes it personal – who do you say I am? Thus, comes Peter’s all-famous declaration of faith You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God!

Jesus continues to ask us the same question. All of us hear about reports of who Jesus is to our friends, family, the world view of various people. But Jesus is more interested in who we believe He is to us, personally. If we really believe Jesus is who He says He is, it will affect every area of our lives, every day of our lives.

Who do you say Jesus is?

Are you satisfied with the reports you hear or do you have a personal understanding of who Jesus is? Is He your personal Savior? Do you believe He is truly the Son of God? How is knowing Jesus personally, affecting your life each day? As you listen to this song, may your heart be stirred in worship and adoration of Jesus, Son of God.

Scripture Writing: John 3:16

What others tell me about Jesus could be the reason for me to seek Him but ultimately checking deep within to answer who He is to me is the most important, life changing moment.
