And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it

Exodus 7:5

God is Almighty and is bigger than your biggest problem.

God heard the cry of His people and came down to rescue them. When Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and humbly requested him to let the people of Israel go to worship God, he refused and claimed he did not know who this God is (Exodus 5:2). God reveals who He is, not necessarily in a way that would please Pharaoh or Egypt. The many wonders that God performed through Moses and Aaron, caused the Egyptians to know for sure what a mighty God He is. God came down to the rescue of His people.

God knew from the beginning that Pharaoh would harden his heart (Exodus 3:19-20), it came as no surprise to Him. God did not harden Pharaoh’s heart against his own desire. He only confirmed Pharaoh in his evil inclination against Israel. The Bible warns us that He can do the same today. We may reach a place where God will strengthen us in the evil we desire (Romans 1:24, 28). Would you ask God to keep your heart tender and sensitive to Him?

As you look at the difficult and challenging situations before you, are you overwhelmed and alarmed? God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He does not change. The God who rescued His people Israel is still the same God and continues to rescue His people. He can rescue you today. As you listen to this well-loved song would you ask God to help you remember that He is bigger than any mountain that you can or cannot see and to trust Him.

As we live out our lives in faith, may your life and mine help others know that our God is Almighty indeed! He is indeed way bigger and more than sufficient for the biggest of our problems.
