Protection Through the Seemingly Impossible

Acts 23:16 – But the son of Paul’s sister heard of their intended attack, and he went and got into the barracks and told Paul.

Having been comforted by the Lord Himself, with His Presence and with the promise of more work in Rome, Paul now faces the next challenge. Some of the Jews, not satisfied with how things had turned out, now decide to take matters into their own hands. They on oath, forty of them decide to lie in ambush for Paul, when he is brought to the Sanhedrin the next day, and to kill him.

But Paul’s nephew who hears of this goes and informs him in prison. Paul immediately sends him to the commander, who acts to protect Paul. He arranges to send Paul with full military escort, to Governor Felix, overnight. It was no accident that Paul’s nephew was there at the right time. God had promised that Paul would go to Rome to testify (Acts 23:11).

The Lord’s purposes can never be thwarted. Whatever man may try to do, the Lord finds ways to accomplish His purposes and protect His own. God will make a way, when there seems to be no way. He makes roadways in the desert. He works in ways we cannot see or understand sometimes. But the truth is, He is at work all the time. His ways are much higher than we can understand or comprehend. Yet, He can always be trusted to come through for us and we are called to trust Him.

Is there an impossible, seemingly hopeless situation that you are facing today? Would you take it to the Lord in prayer today, trusting Him to make a way for you?

Lord help me to trust You through my seemingly impossible situation today, amen.
