Whispers of Solace: Come Away My Child

Published on Aug 30, 2023

Mark 6:31
Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”

Life with all its challenges and tasks
Many a time seems heavy and overwhelming
How does one balance, one tends to ask
This act of juggling, all that life is demanding
Demanding our love, our attention, our time,
Our presence and availability, that’s an uphill climb
Phew now is that one tall order me thinks, don’t you?

Is there anyone who does even know or understand
This pain sometimes, so hard to stand
Stress and strain, caused by the constant need
Of loved ones, which though I would love to meet,
But yet deep down my heart does cry
I am drained and this task is too heavy
Not anymore, I can’t, Is your helpless plea?

If that my friend is your heart’s deep cry
Do know and remember, you are not alone!
Yes dear one, there is one and only One
Who alone knows, who fully understands
Like no one else ever could, for He with His own hands
Did you create in His image, His precious child
And to you He says, come away My child spend time with Me

You, He waits to gather, in His everlasting arms
To comfort, to strengthen, through life’s storms
To give you His peace that passes all understanding
As your load He lightens, and your way He brightens
For His yoke easy and His burden light
Giving for every challenge, His grace, and His might!
And He says, come away My child spend time with Me

So would you heed Him, as He tenderly calls
Come away dear child even as evening falls
Before the day breaks and to your many tasks you rush
Pause a while, spend time with Me, ere you they crush
Let Me comfort and strengthen you for your day
And remind you from My Word, that all along your way
I am ever with you, so would you come away My child?

A Freedom to Choose

What is God calling you to today? Would you humbly say yes to His will, however tough the calling?

God Does Not Forget

God Does Not Forget

God does not forget. He works in ways we cannot understand, sometimes through miracles, for His Kingdom purposes. We are to continue to trust and serve Him faithfully.

Come and See

Come and See

God alone can change hearts, we cannot. We are only called to be pointers, directing people to Christ, so that He might change their hearts.
