Idol Worship Anybody?

John 3:14-15 (NIV) – Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

If someone were to ask you today
You an idol worshipper, what would you say?
No way! would come the quick retort
From many an indignant heart
You would be quick to add, I am a believer
A true worshipper of God

But as you go about your day, today
Pause, see, where do your thoughts tarry?
Who or what is it that does truly
Fill your thoughts and heart, daily
What the thoughts that do occupy
Your mind through each day?

Could it be that over time
That in your heart as in mine
The cares and worries of life
Are piercing like a knife
Keeping us from fully trusting
Our loving Lord and our King?

So as you through this day, you go
Would you to fret and worry, be slow
Seek Him and His forgiveness
For allowing cares, fears so baseless
To overwhelm, take over your heart’s rein
Instead of letting Him in your life to reign

For when He is truly God
He does promise in His Word
When lifted up for the world to see
He says I will draw all men unto Me
So, lay your worries and fears at His feet
And in you, may He be seen, by everyone you meet

Part 5: Compelled by Mercy

Those who are grateful for mercy, are merciful. The bottomless well of mercy extended, should motivate and compel one to pass on the blessing.
