Day 14: From Gallery to One

Victorious Christian Living

Lord the opinions of our family and friends take way more importance than they should. As a result, we are so caught up in ‘keeping up with the Joneses’ and ‘playing to the gallery’ Lord, that we are caught up in the never-ending rat-race of trying to please people and live up to their expectations. In the process, we lose focus of what and who really matters. Forgive us Lord we pray.

Give us Lord, a deep and increasing desire to honour you above all else. Help us retain the much-needed perspective that it is you whom we need to love, please and honor above all else. Help us ever be conscious of the truth that we cannot serve two masters. May we daily choose you above anything or anyone else. May we willingly, happily, and intentionally choose to please and honor you as our priority. May we ever live our lives for the audience One, to please you our Lord and Master, we pray.

Galatians 1:10 – For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

Matthew 6:24 – “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Ponder this: Whom am I truly trying to please?
