Day 3: From Rebellion to Surrender

Victorious Christian Living

Lord we are sinful and our hearts are inclined to rebel. We have rebelled against you in so many ways, in our actions and our thoughts. We have rebelled when we have not remembered the abundance of your mercies and goodness to us, when we have not appreciated you. We have rebelled when we have been disobedient to you and your word. We have rebelled when we been stubborn and insisted on our way over yours, grieving your heart. We have rebelled in our times of unbelief, when we refuse to exercise faith and take you at your word. Forgive us Lord.

Give us Lord hearts that are sensitive to you, hearts of obedience and loving surrender, trusting you in all our circumstances. Help us remember that when we trust in you, nothing comes to us, but through the filter of your love. Lord help us in the coming year, at times when we do rebel in our thought or deed, to be quick to repent and return to you. Take away any pride or stubbornness that could keep us from you. Help us Lord to appreciate you and your abundant goodness to each of us, we pray.

1 Samuel 15:23 – For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.

Luke 6:46 – “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?

Ponder this: How am I rebelling today?
