Day 4: From Controlling to Liberating Faith

Victorious Christian Living

Lord so often in our fear or pride, we tend to try and control our circumstances and the people around us. We are so bent on having our own way. We want to be in control of every detail, big and small. We have failed to seek your will or counsel. When things don’t go our way we are quick to blame others, get angry, even question your goodness Lord, causing much hurt and pain. Forgive us Lord, we pray

Give us Lord hearts that are willing to completely surrender to you. Help us know that you are the Sovereign One, the all wise God, who has the whole world in your hands, and we can trust you with every detail our lives. You alone can bring true and lasting change. Give us Lord hearts that are willing to submit to you and your perfect will. Help us to trust you and let go our situations big or small, into your loving hands, knowing that even in the most difficult and dark place, we need fear no evil, for you are with us, your rod and your staff, they comfort us. Thank you, Lord, that you do indeed work all things together for good. Give us faith to trust you simply and completely, we pray.

Proverbs 19:21 – There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel – that will stand.

Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Ponder this: What of my plans am I yet to surrender to the Lord?
