This Little Light of Mine (Mark 4:21-25) WITNESS

He said to them, “Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand? – Mark 4:21

Light is meant to be revealed. | WATCH ON YOUTUBE

Jesus is saying a lamp gives light and the light is meant to shine. Interestingly, He is not mentioning any specifications for the lamp. He just says a lamp. If the lamp is big or small, if it is fancy looking or not, whatever might be the shape or size, the fact is, a lamp is a lamp. It is to be put on its stand so that it gives light in a dark place.

The Bible says God is Light; in Him, there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth (1 John 1:5-6). If we have this light, the truth of God, we are not to hide this light. It is our solemn responsibility to spread that truth in whatever way God gives us the opportunity. God did not light our lamp so that it would remain hidden.

The Bible also says you are the light of the world (Matt 5:14). And you need to keep shining your light. Just keep doing what you know is right by the Word. Read the Word, live by it. Keep praying. The rest is for the Lord to handle. We need to keep shining our light, faithfully, consistently. Sometimes our little light may just be the light that those around us need to see.

Are you faithfully shining your little light in your corner?

Lord, may my light shine, so all around me may see you in me, I pray.
