So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him. – Acts 12:5

And when he found that it met the approval of the people, he now had Peter arrested and put in prison. But the church was praying. And Peter is miraculously rescued from the prison. God works in and through those who trust Him.

Christian life is a growing experience and can be measured by the steady changes in a person’s life. As we trust Him, we continue to grow in our dependence on Him and become more and more like Him.

God works things out even in the toughest of situations, showing that He is in control, as you begin to trust God more and rely less on your own abilities. And as you begin to turn to Him for your needs, He begins to help you overcome your fears and temptations.

As we begin to see God at work in our lives, our confidence in God and His promises and power increase and our fears decrease. There is no place in the Christian life for over-confidence rather we are to be humbly dependent on God, at all times. A growing Christian is used of the Lord. God has something for each Christian to do.

Often a time of great blessing is followed by tough spiritual warfare and testing. It has been said that the devil only concerns himself with those who threaten his temporary hold on the world. So, expect battles, for the battle gets hotter as faith grows stronger.

What is the evidence in your life to show that you are growing as a Christian?

Lord, change me that I may be more and more like you each day, I pray.
