A Blessing in Storms (Acts 27:13-25) FAITH WALK

Published on Dec 14, 2025

Last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.’ So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as He told me. – Acts 27:23-25

Paul’s unshakable confidence in God made him a leader among men, even though he was a prisoner of Rome. | WATCH ON YOUTUBE

Having set sail despite Paul’s abundant caution against it, the ship with Paul and the other prisoners ran into stormy weather. The sailors were without food for days. The dark storm seemed to have hidden the sun, moon, and stars. And on an open sea, there was no way to navigate without the guidance of these celestial lights.

In this situation, Paul brings them hope. He told them about the angelic vision he had. His message for them was a mixed one. He assured them that there would be no loss of life, however the ship and the cargo would be lost.

Paul had God’s promise for his own safety. But for Paul that was not enough. He laboured in prayer for the safety and blessing of those with him until God granted their safety.

God never forgets His own. That doesn’t mean everything goes easy for those who serve Him. Paul’s present calamity proved that. It does also mean that God’s watchful eye and active care is present even in every calamity.

Paul prayed for and encouraged those in the storm with him. How about you?

Lord, help me bring your hope to those going through trouble, I pray.
