Eternal Consequences (1 Timothy 1:12-17) SALVATION

Published on Dec 18, 2025

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners— of whom I am the worst.1 Timothy 1:15

To fully appreciate what Jesus has done for us, we need to see ourselves as He sees us. | WATCH ON YOUTUBE

God has made every human being unique. And yet we all have certain things that are common too, like physical features, abilities of speech, thought and emotion. God has also given us a natural desire to seek Him so that we live in harmony with Him.

But every one of us is sinful. Nobody except Jesus has ever lived a fully perfect life. And our sinful nature separates us from God forever. God is a Holy God. He cannot tolerate sin. But He loves the sinner.  He sent His only Son to die on our behalf (John 3:16).

To be saved is to accept Jesus’ offer of salvation. When we do, we are saved from a fate of living without God eternally. We all need saving because all of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). And because, the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).

Becoming like Christ is an ongoing experience. When we chose Christ as our Saviour, He calls us to set aside our sinful ways. It means abandoning the attitudes and thoughts that conflict with Jesus’ love and purposes, not living in seclusion. This could sometimes mean saying ‘no’ to things that would hinder our relationship with Jesus and saying ‘yes’ to what He wants.

Are you saved?

Lord, help me live each day conscious of your sacrifice on the cross on my behalf, I pray.
