I have comeÂ asÂ a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.

We celebrate Christmas because we celebrate Jesus

the Light of the world that dispels the darkness of sin
the strong and eloquent contrast to the darkness of those opposing Him
who calls us to be His light in a world filled with sorrow and despair

For being the Light that takes away the darkness of sin, thank you Lord.
May I shine your light on those you have placed around me, especially this season.
