Approved and Sealed (1 Corinthians 15:1-11) RESURRECTION

Published on Dec 3, 2025

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Proof that the resurrection did actually happen, is both physical and psychological. The empty tomb with only the abandoned grave clothes provided the physical proof, backed by the persistent failure of all explanations to the contrary. The numerous reported appearances of the risen Christ, at different times and before different people point to the same truth.

Psychologically, the transformed lives of the disciples, the conviction of the early church in the face of severe persecution, are ample proof that Christ did indeed rise from the dead.

In the resurrection, God set His seal of approval upon Christ as the Son of God. Christ’s victory over death has taken out the finality of death.

Jesus would never have risen from the dead so triumphantly if He had not been first willing to give up His life. We receive new life in Christ, only when we are willing to give up control of our own lives.

It was the resurrection that transformed the followers of Jesus and sent them into the world to preach the Good News. And the same transformation even today causes His disciples to, many a time, face much persecution to reach the unreached for the Lord.

How has the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ transformed your views and lifestyle?

Lord, may I never lose the wonder of your amazing love that took You to the cross for me, I pray.
