There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. – 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

While the ‘fruit’ of the Spirit relates to character, the gifts of the Spirit are to do with abilities distributed among believers. All fruit of the Spirit are to be displayed by all believers but gifts vary from person to person.
Everyone has ‘natural’ God-given gifts from birth. Gifts are distributed among all and not restricted to some ‘outstanding’ individuals or leaders. Every believer has at least one gift. All gifts come from only one source, the Spirit of God. God displays and pours out His miraculous power in different ways, but it is always the same God doing the work. Gifts when given back to Him, He blesses and uses for His glorious purposes.
Gifts are to be used to glorify God and to edify and unite the body of Christ. Gifts are not to be a point of comparison or jealousy. Disciples are called, individually and collectively, to use their gifts to share the gospel with the unreached. However challenging the circumstances, the ultimate aim for gifts that each disciple has, is to make Christ known.
Take time to prayerfully identify your gifts. Give thanks for the gifts that God has given you. Dedicate it back to God the Giver. Find ways to use them as a blessing to those around you.
Lord, may I ever use my gifts for your glory alone, I pray.
