These are the things God has revealed to us by His Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. – 1 Corinthians 2:10

A Christian is like a house with many ‘rooms’ or many interests, relationships and talents. The Holy Spirit comes to live inside our ‘house’ when we accept Jesus as our Saviour. Slowly He moves from room to room cleaning away the dirt and dust of sin. But He will not force locks. He will only go in where we invite Him to do His work and help us grow.
As Christians, we are to be ‘holy.’ The Holy Spirit does the work of sanctifying or making us holy, by pointing out things that are wrong in our lives through our conscience, a Bible passage or a person. He gives us the strength to overcome our sinful habits and replaces them with the fruit of the Spirit, expressed in service to God and other people.
The Spirit unites the Church which is made up of different people and opinions. We are to show our faith by working together, despite our differences. He has given each of us varying ‘gifts’ so that we can both give and receive from each other.
The work of the Holy Spirit is powerful and fundamental to every Christian’s spiritual growth and to the growth of the Church as a whole. To grow, means submission to the Holy Spirit and willingness to learn from one another.
