So, God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God, He created them; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:27
God created.
Genesis in Greek means ‘origin’ or ‘creation.’ The first book in the Bible sets the stage for the entire plan of redemption which unfolds in the rest of the books. Genesis begins with the beginnings. The first few chapters give an account of creation. The Bible simply and clearly declares the world did not create itself or come about by chance. The world was created by God. And God, by definition, is eternal and has always been.
In the first five days, God created the heavens and the earth. He spoke all of creation into being. And it was good in His eyes. But when on the sixth day, God created man and woman He created them in His image. God formed them with His own hands and breathed life into their nostrils.
Human beings are the crown of all God’s creation. We are created to love God, worship Him, and enjoy fellowship with Him. Zephaniah 3:17 says He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. What a privilege and legacy.
You and I are created in God’s image. To be in God’s image is to be like Him. It is to have His nature and reflect His character. It is to live in unity with one another.
Human parents love to hear that their children are like them.
How much more then God, who created us? How are you reminding others of your Heavenly Father?
