Hear and Turn (Jeremiah 36:1-8) GOD’S JUDGEMENT

Published on Aug 17, 2025

Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah and all the other nations from the time I began speaking to you in the reign of Josiah till now.  Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about every disaster I plan to inflict on them, they will each turn from their wicked ways; then I will forgive their wickedness and their sin. – Jeremiah 36:2-3

God called Jeremiah to write.| WATCH ON YOUTUBE

Jeremiah has been speaking God’s messages to the people. And now, God calls him to write these messages on a scroll. He was to write all the prophetic sayings he had been given up to that point, which meant all the earlier messages too.

Jeremiah was to write so that the message might be more effectively delivered. The written word would be more easily remembered, consulted, and meditated upon. The purpose was that the people of Judah will hear, turn from their wicked ways so that the Lord would forgive them.

There were another twenty years before the final conquest of Jerusalem. There was still time. It was still possible that God would rescue Judah, to avert the coming judgment. But for this, every man needed to hear what God has spoken, turn from his evil ways and then God would forgive their sins.

The day of the Lord’s return is imminent, there is no two ways about it. The time and date we do not know. And yet, when there is still time, God continues to give us opportunity after opportunity for us to hear His Word and turn from our sins, so that we may experience His forgiveness and redemption.

Have you taken up this offer?

Lord, help me not delay in accepting you as my Savior, I pray.
