Hopelessness to Blessing (Revelation 1:1-11) MINISTRY

Published on Dec 28, 2025

I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. – Revelation 1:9

The book of Revelation is written by the Apostle John, the beloved disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. | WATCH ON YOUTUBE

John had been exiled to the island of Patmos for incessantly preaching about Jesus Christ. History tells us that he was exiled because the Roman emperor Domitian was angry that John had not died when he had him dipped in boiling oil. John had suffered much. And now, close to the end of his life, he finds himself exiled for his faith.

Humanly, that sure seems a hopeless situation. But not with God. With God, no situation is hopeless. The Lord had plans for John. He was not done with His beloved disciple. And what a grand plan. The Lord had preserved and kept John. And in that place of aloneness, He had a purpose for him. A wonderful absolutely amazing experience. A revelation from the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. A revelation of things soon to happen (chap 1:1-2). A revelation that was to become part of God’s inspired Word, for generations to come. What a privilege indeed.

Often, God turns a place of loneliness into a place of ministry and blessing. Even though we may find ourselves in a seemingly hopeless and lonely situation, the Bible reminds us He is not done with us.

So don’t give up. Trust and obey Him. He can and will bring beauty out of the ashes of your life and use you to bless many.

Thank you, Lord, that you can and will bring beauty into my life too, help me trust you wholeheartedly, I pray.
