Honest to God (Job 33:1-33)                       COMMUNICATION

My words come from an upright heart; my lips sincerely speak what I know.  Job 33:3

Elihu finally speaks.

The youngest of the friends that came to visit Job, Elihu, had been quietly listening to the taunting words of the other older friends of Job. He had also been listening to the somewhat exasperated replies of Job himself.  But finally, he breaks his silence and addresses himself to Job.

He begins his address with a powerful statement that is relevant to each of us. He states that he is speaking from the uprightness of his heart and that his words are sincere. Basically, Elihu is saying that he will only say what he knows and shall try to say it simply and clearly so that no one would mistake his meaning.

That is a great example of how our conversations need to be. We are to speak from upright hearts. We are to be sincere before God in what we say. We need to honor God with our words. Harsh words do not come from an upright heart.

There are times when we need to speak up, but we hesitate because we fear what people would think or say. But we are to speak with courage and not with the fear of being judged.

Sincere and clear communication is great for keeping relationships healthy. When our thoughts are not clear, our words will not be clear either. It is necessary that we speak plainly so that we are easily understood to avoid misunderstanding?

Is there a relationship that needs your honest-to-God communication to bring healing?

Lord help me always be upright and clear when I speak to others, I pray.

Attention Please (Job 42:1-17) FAITH

Attention Please (Job 42:1-17) FAITH

Is God trying to draw your attention to Him through a painful situation in your life? Would you, like Job choose to trust Him, even when you don’t always understand?

Spirit Led (Job 35:1-16)                                                                     FAITH

Spirit Led (Job 35:1-16)                   FAITH

The mark of righteous anger is that it is triggered by the belittling of God and not the belittling of ourselves. Elihu though young, was led by the Spirit of God.
Does your life reflect marks of one being led by the Lord?
