Journey of Life (Psalm 16:1-11) GOD’S PRESENCE

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. – Psalm 16:11

God’s presence with us is the greatest blessing. | WATCH ON YOUTUBE

When the people of Israel rebelled against the Lord by forming for themselves a golden calf to worship, the Lord was angry. He refused to go with the people anymore. He said he would keep His promise. He would give them the lands; He would drive out all the people of the lands before them. The only change was that the Lord would not go with them. Shouldn’t be much of a problem, right?

But Moses knew better. He refused to go without the Lord’s presence. Moses knew that the presence of the Lord was way more precious than all the lands and victories.  Without the presence of the Lord, the lands or even the greatest wealth was simply not worth it. And so, he insisted that if the Lord would not go with them, then He would not send them from that place (Exodus 33:15).

God is the one who created us and has a wonderful plan for each one. He alone knows the way we need to take and can direct us. God is sovereign. He is the only one who can protect and keep us and bring us safely to heaven at last. Having the Lord go with us and before us, is by far the greatest blessing.

To experience and practice God’s presence, we need to have a relationship with Him and spend time with Him. We need to talk to Him in prayer and listen to Him from His Word.

Is God your constant companion on your journey?

Help me journey each day with you, Lord, I pray.
