God has given us many privileges to inspire and encourage us in our Christian lives. God’s children are part of His family. The ‘family’ of God are all those all around the world, who believe in Him and love and serve Him.
An ambassador is a chosen person who represents their country’s interests in a foreign land. They tell people what their country believes in. Every Christian is an ambassador for Christ, representing God’s Kingdom to this fallen world. Our first loyalty is always to Christ. We live by His standards rather than the world’s standards. Our duties never stop, we are never ‘off duty.’ People judge our Lord by what we do and say.
We also have the privilege of being God’s messengers. We have a message to pass on (Luke 8:38-39). Not all Christians have special gifts of teaching or preaching, but every one of us can tell others the simple facts about God and His saving grace. In a world full of people who feel lost and anxious, this is a message they badly need to hear.
Every believer is also a saint. We are highly regarded by God. We are called to live as saints, to continually grow in our faith and understanding so that we become more and more like Him. We are to reflect Christ’s love through our daily lives. What a privilege. An attitude of gratitude for who we are in Christ keeps us from taking it for granted.
How will you tell someone about Jesus this week?
Lord, help me live like the privileged one I am, I pray.
