Love that Breaks into Song (Zephaniah 3:9-20) KNOW YOUR GOD

Published on Aug 6, 2025

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love, He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” – Zephaniah 3:17

Zephaniah the ninth of the twelve Minor Prophets, was from the royal lineage of Hezekiah.| WATCH ON YOUTUBE

He prophesied against Nineveh during the time of King Josiah. Zephaniah’s message was against the people of Nineveh who had done great evil in the sight of the Lord. And yet, his message ends with this comforting assurance from the Lord to restore the remnant of Israel. God promises to restore His people.

And in the light of this great restoration that God promises His people, God calls His people to rejoice with singing. Rejoice because God, who is Mighty and able, is with you. Rejoice because God takes joy in you. Rejoice because you can rest in His love for you. And most interestingly, rejoice because God rejoices over you with singing.

God has great joy in His people. We often are so focused on the image of God who is waiting to correct or punish us that we forget that God loves us deeply and rejoices over us. We don’t often think of God singing, but He does. Think of the great Jehovah singing. God sings over us, His children. What an amazing thought.

God did not sing when He made the universe. He simply said it was good. But when it comes to His redeemed people, He is so filled with joy that He breaks into song. If God sings, shall we also not sing?

Are you one of God’s redeemed that He is singing over today?

Lord, help me rejoice in you my loving God, I pray.

Are You Seeing? (Ezekiel 12:1-16) FAITH

The Lord continues to graciously warn us today from His Word and through the lives of people around us. Are we taking warning and repenting or are we rebellious too?
