Love Unparalleled (Isaiah 49:8-21) GOD’S LOVE

Published on Jul 29, 2025

Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.  Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me. – Isaiah 49:15-16

Chapter 49 begins an altogether new section in the book of Isaiah, that has reference to a message that would be for the ends of the earth (v 6) and God’s promises that transcend time. The perfect faithfulness God displayed in history would be seen in future too.

God is aware of His people and their situations. God’s love for Jerusalem and His people goes beyond the love of a mother for her nursing baby. God will never abandon His children. He will never forget them or their needs.

As though He is holding up His hand for them to see, He says, see I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. The word “engraved” and “ever” give the sense of permanence. Jesus’ nail-pierced hands so beautifully remind us how He has indeed inscribed us on the palm of his Hand. And the Bible says, nothing can separate us from this love of God (Romans 8:35-39).

Life has its share of challenges over which often one has no control. It is so easy to focus on “bereavement and barrenness.” We are instead to focus on God, whose love surpasses that of a nursing mother for her child, whose protection is everlasting, and whose triumph is certain. Those who hope in Him will not be disappointed.

Is your hope and trust in the unfailing love of this Savior?

Lord, may I ever remember your amazing love for me, I pray.

naturally like your web site however you need to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I find it very bothersome to tell the truth on the other hand I will surely come again again.
