My Pride Blocks (2 Chronicles 7:11-22) PRIDE

Published on Jun 14, 2025

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14

Our nation needs our prayer. | WATCH ON YOUTUBE

King Solomon has just finished building this amazing temple of the Lord. The Lord now appears to him. The Lord tells him that he has heard his prayer and accepts the place for Himself as a temple of sacrifices (v12).

The Lord talks about the future, possible problems, and its solution. He tells King Solomon, there would be times in the future when He shuts the heaven and there is no rain, or He sends some plague, or there is some national catastrophe. And when that happens, if His people would humble themselves and pray, then He would hear, answer and deliver.

Every nation of the world has its own challenges. We, as God’s people, are called to pray for our nations. God says His people, those who believe in Him, are to seek and call unto Him.

Prayer comes from a place of humility. Prayer says, Lord I can’t but I believe you can. Prayer shows need and dependence. Prayer shows our inability and God’s amazing ability. Our prayers matter.

Even if you and I are not in positions of governing authority, we are still in powerful positions. We are called to humble ourselves and pray. We are to be prayer warriors for our nation.

Is there pride in you that is keeping you from praying for your nation?

Lord, give me the grace to be humble and to pray for my nation, I pray.
