Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. – Psalm 139:6
David knew his God and what he knew overwhelmed him.| WATCH ON YOUTUBE
David is famously known as the man after God’s own heart. King David sets the premise for this psalm by stating some facts. God had already taken the effort and had searched him. God knows him, knows when he sits and when he rises. God also knows and understands his thoughts. It is not a question nor speculation. God knows each of us, just as He knew King David.
God’s knowledge is not restricted to the past. He continues to know each of us, every day, every minute of each day. He knows when we sit, stand, and think, even where we go. He knows it all.
And this our God knows not just our past and our present but knows our future too. He knows what we will think or say, what we will do in the future. He knows more about us than we know about ourselves.
Our God knows and understands us and yet He loves us. He is our God who protects us, from all sides. He lays His hand upon us.
And this knowledge overwhelms David. He found it difficult to understand how and why God loves us so much. But the truth is God knows, loves and protects each of us. And this truth should be our assurance and comfort as we go through life.
Does what you know of God and His love overwhelm you too?
May I increase in my knowledge and love for you Lord, I pray.
