Step into the Water (Exodus 36:1-7) CALLING

So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the Lord has commanded.  Exodus 36:1

There was a task at hand. The tabernacle was to be built. And so, the Lord called and equipped Bezalel and Oholiab to lead the work of constructing the sanctuary. The Bible says, God not only called Bezalel and Oholiab, by name, for the task, but He also filled them with His Spirit and gave them the wisdom and skill for the task (Exodus 31:1). God gave them the ability to know how to do the work and to teach others too.

God continues to call people to do various tasks for His Kingdom purposes. And those He calls; He equips with all they need. But many of us are scared to take up the tasks that God calls us to do. We feel inadequate and ill-equipped.

That’s a great place to be. When it is God who equips us, our reliance on Him is greater. Our confidence is replaced with Him-confidence. When we trust Him completely instead of on our own resources and abilities, it leads to humility. It is finally all about Him and Him alone. And so, the responsibility to make it happen is also is not ours but His. All we must do, is stay close to Him and obey Him completely. There is immense freedom in that.

Would you take courage and step out into the waters, to do what He has called you to do? You will walk the waters with Him.

Lord, help me obey your call and step out in faith, I pray.
