Interestingly, this promise and warning that the Lord sends Azariah with, came not at the beginning of his reign as king of Judah, but much after. Now the Bible records that King Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord (2 Chronicles 14:2). He had already done much to remove all the idols and pagan gods from Judah. He had sought the Lord and the Lord had also given him victory against the Cushites. And then, Azaria is sent by the Lord with this warning and promise to the king.
To seek is to go in search or quest of, to pursue, and to follow.
Seeking the Lord is not a one-time activity but an ongoing, lifelong habit of the believer. And we are to seek the Lord all through life and its choices and decisions, not just in the initial walk with the Lord. Nor is seeking the Lord to be restricted to some areas of life but is to pervade every decision and choice.
And yet, if after knowing the truth, we still choose to forsake Him, then the Bible says it very simply, He will forsake us too. If after knowing the truth we still insist on delighting in wickedness, then the Lord Himself will send a powerful delusion so that we believe the lie (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12).
Are you walking with Him daily or have you abandoned Him somewhere along the way?
