To God Be the Glory (2 Corinthians 4:1-18) GRATITUDE

Published on Dec 4, 2025

All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. – 2 Corinthians 4:15

Gratitude is the quality of being thankful. It is the readiness to show appreciation for someone. | WATCH ON YOUTUBE

Paul tells the Corinthian church that he is grateful for the ministry that God has entrusted the apostles with. Though they are hard pressed on every side, they are not crushed. Though they are persecuted and struck, they don’t give up but press on. They carry around in them the marks of Christ, so that He may be revealed. And that comes from a heart of gratitude for Christ has done for them and through them (v7-12).

The message of the gospel requires from each of us the response of gratitude to God. Gratitude for the undeserved favour and merit that is ours because of Christ’s death and resurrection. Gratitude that Christ took my place and yours on that cruel cross and rose in victory. Gratitude for the life eternal we have through faith in Christ. And when we show our gratitude and give thanks to God, it brings Him glory.

An attitude of gratitude to God brings perspective. The fact is that I am deeply indebted to God for His grace. All that He does for me is free and undeserved. An attitude of gratitude is the common factor in a life that gives glory to God and a life of joy.

Is your life glorifying God? How have you expressed your gratitude to God today?

Dear Father, help me never to be tired of thanking you for the undeserved grace I have in you, I pray.
